Follett School Solutions Partners with boclips to Add K-12 Educational Videos to Digital Classroom Library

McHENRY, Ill., Oct. 26, 2021 Follett School Solutions today announced Follett MyDestiny, its one-stop digital classroom library, now features 50,000 safe, vetted K-12 educational videos from leading and trusted content providers. The videos are the result of a new partnership between Follett and boclips, a provider of educationally rich, rights-cleared videos.

Follett MyDestiny, launched earlier this year, also provides unlimited 24/7 access to 50,000 diverse, high-quality, multi-user eBooks from a variety of publishers; 100,000 educator-vetted resources; and learning tools. Moreover, MyDestiny leverages personalized recommendations to allow users to easily locate content, all aligned to national and individual state standards.

“MyDestiny brings the best of the web, a huge reading library, and now the power of video all from a single platform,” said Britten Follett, CEO/Content for Follett. “Students excel when they build background knowledge on a topic, and this is best achieved when they leverage a variety of sources and media types. We are thrilled with boclips’ integration capabilities to bring the world’s best educational videos to students.”

She added the partnership allows teachers to save time searching to find the right videos to incorporate into their lessons, allowing them more time to attend to the individual needs of their students. Other advantages include:

  • plug-and-play technology for instant integration with the boclips video library;
  • protection of student safety and privacy by preventing exposure to irrelevant, inappropriate, or inaccurate content.
  • elimination of the copyright headache by obtaining assets through boclips’ partner brands via a single, simple education license.

Boclips was founded seven years ago to help break down barriers between video production and education publishers, with the goal of curating content matched to age level and subject matter.

“Boclips is delighted to partner with Follett to enhance and enrich digital learning experiences with our library of highly relevant educational videos,” said David Bainbridge, boclips Founder and CEO. “Through our video streaming integration with the MyDestiny platform, students and educators will now have access to rich video content that is typically behind paywalls from leading content providers.”
